Real Lives @ RLC
Keith Russell grew up with what he calls “Sunday School Religion” with a knowledge of God the Father and Jesus but nothing beyond that. “It was a religion with no heart,” Keith says.
After graduating from high school, Keith joined the US Marine Corp. While in the service, he fell away from his childhood faith and became an atheist.
After three deployments, Keith was discharged from the Marines and returned home. At home, his uncle invited him to church. “I went out of politeness”, he recalls. But it became a turning point in Keith’s life.
“It was there that I met God the Holy Spirit! He showed me how he had protected me during my deployments in the Marines and had actually saved me on the on the battlefield!”
As Keith continued to grow in his relationship with God, he begin to pray about his future.
“As I was praying, God impressed on my heart ‘Northwestern College, Minneapolis/Saint Paul.’ I had never heard of it before, so I looked it up online and sure enough, there was a college in the Twin Cities called Northwestern!”
That was in 2005, and Keith has been a part of Real Life Church every since as he continues to finish his degree. He is also is a youth sponsor for CREW Student Ministries.
A recent blessing in Keith’s life has been his engagement to Mahala VanOstrand. The wedding is scheduled for June 14th...congratulations Keith and Mahala!

Life-to-Life
ONE-ON-ONE DISCIPLESHIP
Various Meeting Times
Discipleship is more than adhering to a set of teachings or principles: it is a relationship
of life transformation. And one of the best contexts for this is a one-on-one relationship.
In today’s society, we have sports coaches, life coaches, and business mentors...this is
not a new idea...Jesus came up with it a long time ago and has passed it on to us through his
“disciples.” And YOU can be a part of this journey today! Simply choose one of the “tracks”
below, and we’ll match you up with a trained mentor to help you in your spiritual journey.
A small cost is involved for each track. Questions? Contact Pastor Eric: 651-490-5433,
ericjmatty@reallifechurch.net.
